Military Veterans Enrichen Combined Insurance in the Corporate Offices and in the Field

This month we are shining a spotlight on our company culture and inviting our readers to learn more about what’s important to our employees, the priority we put on giving back to the places where we live and work, and our emphasis on diversity and inclusion.

One of our core values lies in supporting our nation’s veterans; by hiring them, supporting them while they’re employed here, and by giving back to veteran-focused organizations. We are committed to being a top military-friendly company, and we have a tradition of supporting military veterans by providing them with meaningful career opportunities and supporting related causes.

Combined Insurance values veterans’ talents and strengths

Being successful in the armed forces requires self-motivation, discipline, and drive: qualities that also help employees achieve success in the corporate world. We truly value the qualities veterans bring with them to the workplace and we take special pride in helping individuals who have sacrificed so much for our country.

Veteran recruiting program launched in 2010

With this in mind, we launched a veteran recruiting program in 2010, and in 2017, we announced plans to hire 2,000 more veterans by the end of 2019 as part of this program.Since 2013, we have:

  • Hired more than 4,450 veterans, military spouses and their family members
  • Announced plans to hire 2,000 more veterans by the end of 2019
  • Joined the Department of Defense Military Spouse Employment Partnership
  • Announced the company will grant any veteran or military spouse a job interview

And, we are getting noticed for our efforts! Combined Insurance has received numerous accolades throughout the years for our veteran-friendly corporate practices.  We were named the #1 Military Friendly Employer for 2019 by VIQTORY/G.I. Jobs Magazine, marking the company’s eighth consecutive year in the top 10 list and fifth consecutive year in the Top 5.  We were also named the #1 Military Friendly Spouse Employer for 2019 – the first time one company held the top spot in both categories. We continue to have special teams who focus on veteran outreach, and we attend several veteran-focused job fairs around the country.

Veterans enjoy working at Combined Insurance

Veteran employees, like our Director of Training, Glenn Elmore, often comment that one reason they love working at Combined Insurance is because of the commitment, teamwork and camaraderie they share with their coworkers.

This can especially be true for our agents who work as a team together in the field selling our products, where the organization and structure of agents and managers is similar to the structure of teams in the military. Many veterans have a passion for service, and they joined the armed forces to serve their country. Employees share that they appreciate that Combined offers them the opportunity to once again serve their communities by offering them peace of mind and protection when they need it.

Combined Insurance is seeking veterans to fill a variety of positions, including sales agents, territory managers, market directors, administrative and corporate staff positions. Check out our open positions here.
