Combined U.S. Announces New Life Coverage

The new Worksite Term Life product offers flexibility for employees looking to enhance their protection.

CHICAGO, Jan. 26, 2026 – Combined U.S., a Chubb Benefits Company, today announced the launch of Worksite Term Life, a new life insurance solution designed to help employers offer enhanced financial protection to their employees.

The addition of Worksite Term Life expands Combined U.S.’s supplemental benefits portfolio and addresses a meaningful coverage gap in the U.S. workforce.

Life insurance ownership patterns have shifted significantly over the last several decades with the percent of ownership declining. Employer-based plans have become a primary source of coverage with business owners identifying life insurance as the second-most common benefit they provide after employer-provided medical insurance.

Despite this shift, 42% of Americans say they need life insurance or need more of it, while only 29% report having workplace life insurance today, according to LIMRA, a leading global insurance industry research organization.

Many consumers also significantly misjudge the cost — 72% of Americans overestimate the price of a term life policy, even though it is generally the most affordable form of life insurance, according to LIMRA. For example, a healthy, non-smoking 40-year-old can purchase a 20-year, $75,000 policy for a monthly cost lower than the average cost of a single food delivery ($34).

“These days employees expect benefits that support financial security through all stages of life,” said Mat Matarrese, Division President, Combined U.S. “Worksite Term Life helps employers deliver on that expectation while remaining cost-neutral to their benefits budget.”

Worksite Term Life provides employees with death benefits up to $250,000. Employees can keep their coverage even if they change jobs or retire.

Combined U.S. will offer Worksite Term Life with the flexibility for employees to enhance their coverage with optional Accidental Death and Waiver of Premium benefits. Employees may also choose to extend life insurance protection to eligible family members with spouse and child term riders.

“Worksite Term Life delivers accessible, meaningful protection at a time when many working families need it most,” said Janet Buzil, Senior Vice President, Product Innovation and Delivery, Chubb Benefits.

“With stable rates, guaranteed and simplified issue underwriting, and customizable options, Worksite Term Life helps brokers and employers expand their benefits package by offering employees life insurance they can keep through age 95.”

Worksite Term Life is the newest addition to Combined U.S.’s voluntary health and life portfolio for the U.S. The company offers supplemental accident, critical illness, disability, hospital indemnity, and life insurance products to employers across the U.S.
