Rich Williams

President, Combined Insurance 
Mr. Williams oversees all business operations, management, and growth strategies at Combined Insurance. He joined Combined in 2021 from Aflac, Inc., where he was a core member of its global executive management team and most recently served as President of Aflac Group Benefits. Prior to joining Aflac, Mr. Williams held a series of leadership positions, including at Unum U.S., Colonial Life, and Aetna. An actuary by training, he is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA). Mr. Williams is a graduate of Wofford College in South Carolina. He earned a Master of Arts degree in Mathematics from Wake Forest University and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of South Carolina.


Joel Schwartz

President, Combined Canada
Mr. Schwartz oversees Combined Canada’s business operations, management, and growth strategies. He has 35+ years of experience in sales, finance, and marketing, and joined the company after serving as President of CNO company Colonial Penn Life Insurance, a Top Five direct-to-consumer life insurer. Earlier, Mr. Schwartz held a series of leadership positions, including as Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President at Lincoln Financial Distributors. He is a graduate of Villanova University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

Alex Faynberg

Division President, Chubb Workplace Benefits
Mr. Faynberg is responsible for the overall growth and profitability of Chubb Workplace Benefits. He has two decades of actuarial, product development, data analytics, and underwriting experience, and joined the organization in 2016. Previously, Mr. Faynberg held leadership positions at Liberty Mutual and AIG. An actuary by training, he is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA). He is a graduate of Brooklyn College in New York.


Mat Matarrese

SVP, Combined U.S. Agency
Mr. Matarrese is responsible for driving the sales growth strategy for Combined Agency Distribution through agent recruitment, sales production, professional development, and building and maintaining client relationships. He joined Combined Insurance in 2018 after holding sales leadership roles at Aflac and Colonial Life.  Mr. Matarrese, who started his career as a sales agent, is licensed in Accident/Health and Life Insurance and holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin at La Crosse. 


Chris Anderson

Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Anderson is responsible for the end-to-end leadership of the company’s Finance function. He joined Combined Insurance in 2014, and previously held the role of Controller. Mr. Anderson has 30 years of professional accounting and finance experience at a major accounting firm, where he led the delivery of audit and tax services to several large insurance organizations.


Eileen Castolene

Senior Vice President, Chief Operations Officer 
Ms. Castolene and her team are accountable for providing differentiated service experiences, both directly, and indirectly, to Combined’s customers. Her oversight includes claims; service support to brokers and corporate clients; and contact center and back operations for individual consumers.  In addition, she is accountable for delivering resources and capabilities that enable quality delivery of transformational initiatives across the enterprise.


Sadaf Siddiqui

Senior Vice President, General Counsel
Ms. Siddiqui is responsible for all legal and compliance matters for Combined Insurance. She joined the legal department of Chubb Life Insurance Company of Canada in 2012, providing legal and regulatory counsel to Chubb Life and the Canadian branch of Combined Insurance. A member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and the New York State bar, Ms. Siddiqui has almost 20 years of progressive responsibility in the financial services sector with a concentration in the life, accident and health insurance industry, both in her prior roles with a prominent Canadian life insurance company and a multinational special risk carrier.


Steve McCoy

Senior Vice President, Chief Underwriting Officer
Mr. McCoy oversees all North American Underwriting functions, including the maximization and optimal balancing of revenue and profitability targets.  He joined Combined from Unum, where he worked for more than two decades in both individual and group business and most recently oversaw Unum’s Voluntary Benefits Underwriting organization. Mr. McCoy earned both a Bachelor of Science and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.


Frank Rockett

Senior Vice President, Human Resources
Mr. Rockett leads Combined Insurance’s North American Human Resources team, overseeing employee relations, corporate recruiting, talent development, and training. A trusted advisor and employee advocate, he joined the company in 2019 after nearly 30 years at Chubb. Mr. Rockett’s leadership roles have included those in operations management and in HR supporting Chubb’s Field Operations, the Commercial Insurance and Personal Insurance businesses, and Global Corporate groups.


Chad Wells

Senior Vice President, Marketing and Communications
Mr. Wells is responsible for brand, sales growth, and business development through sales incentives, digital marketing, sales campaigns, corporate communications, social media, and other marketing initiatives. He has more than 25 years of experience in product and marketing in the health insurance, technology, and human capital industries. Prior to joining Combined, he held marketing leadership roles at UnitedHealthcare and Blue Cross Blue Shield Association in senior, employer, and individual markets. 


Michelle Bryer

Senior Vice President, Claims
Ms. Bryer is accountable for all aspects of strategy, execution, and day-to-day performance for the U.S. and Canada Combined Claims organizations. She has more than 20 years of claims adjudication experience. Most recently, she served as the Vice President of Operations for Unum’s Life and Long-Term Care claim operations. Throughout her career, Ms. Bryer has worked in a variety of leadership roles, including leading diverse product teams in long-term and individual disability. She brings a passion for continuous improvement and talent development. 


Janet Buzil

Senior Vice President, Product Innovation and Delivery
Janet leads the organization’s Product team for all distribution channels. She oversees strategy, development, marketing, and enablement across Combined in the U.S. and Canada, and for Chubb Workplace Benefits (CWB). Janet joined the company more than a decade ago, previously serving as CWB’s Vice President of Marketing and Product Development. Earlier in her career, she held leadership positions at Security Mutual Life Insurance Company and Trustmark Insurance Company, and served as president of the National Association of Supplemental Benefits Insurance. Janet earned a Bachelor of Arts from Columbia College and a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.


Dan Cox

Senior Vice President, Information Technology
Mr. Cox oversees application development, architecture, infrastructure, data and cloud management, and production support at Combined. He has nearly three decades of IT experience, joining the company after leading technology and operations teams at CNA. He previously worked at  Ameritech and Kemper Financial Services. Mr. Cox earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Technology from Purdue University, and an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Illinois at Chicago.


Jason Mulligan

Vice President, Deputy Chief Actuary
Jason directs all of the organization’s Sales Channel actuarial support, Valuation,  Pricing and Portfolio Management functions, which are critical to Combined’s sales growth strategies and management of reserves. Jason has been with Combined for the entirety of his more than 20-year career, progressing in leadership roles during his tenure with the company. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Actuarial Science.
