Military Veterans Enrich Combined Insurance in the Corporate Offices and in the Field
Veteran’s Day is an especially important holiday for us at Combined Insurance. Bob Wiedower, VP Sales Development and Military Programs and retired LtCol, USMC, recently commented, “All of us at Combined Insurance pause to remember the sacrifices made by our Veterans and their families on this Veteran’s Day. We will always be grateful for your service. We are committed to being a top military-friendly company, and we strive to always do our part to help Veterans transition from having a military career to working in the private sector.”
Combined Insurance values Veterans’ talents and strengths
We have a tradition of supporting military Veterans by providing them with meaningful career opportunities and supporting related causes.

Being successful in the armed forces requires self-motivation, discipline and drive: qualities that also help employees achieve success in the corporate world. We truly value the qualities Veterans bring with them to the workplace and we take special pride in helping a group of individuals who have sacrificed so much for our country.
Veteran recruiting program launched in 2010
With this in mind, we launched a Veteran recruiting program in 2010, and in May, we announced plans to hire 2,000 more Veterans by the end of 2019 as part of this program. Since 2013, we have hired 4,200 Veterans and their family members. We are getting noticed for our efforts! We have been:
- Ranked as a Top Military Friendly® Employer for 2017 by G.I. Jobs Magazine
- Listed on the Top Military Friendly® Employer list for six consecutive years
- Ranked as a Top Military Spouse Friendly Employer by Military Spouse Magazine for the third year in a row
- Ranked on the Military Times “Best for Vets” employers list
We recently announced our participation in the Department of Defense Military Spouse Employment Partnership, and we announced that we will grant any Veteran or military spouse an interview with the company. We continue to have special teams who focus on Veteran outreach, and we attend several Veteran-focused job fairs around the country.

Veterans enjoy working at Combined Insurance
Veteran employees, like our Director of Training, Glenn Elmore, often comment that one reason they love working at Combined Insurance is because of the commitment, teamwork and camaraderie they share with their coworkers.

This can especially be true for our agents who work as a team together in the field selling our products, where the organization and structure of agents and managers is similar to the structure of teams in the military. Many Veterans have a passion for service, and they joined the armed forces to serve their country. Employees, like Fred Stewart, share that they appreciate that Combined offers them the opportunity to once again serve their communities by offering them peace of mind and protection when they need it.
