Employees, vendors and special guests Jason McKie, Dan Hampton and Johnnie Knox had a great afternoon on the course. Teams participated in a shotgun start to complete 18 holes, competing for longest drive, straightest drive and best scores.
Everyone appreciated the opportunity not only to have some time for fun with their colleagues, but also to participate in an event that gives back. ”We place a high priority on helping Veterans find meaningful careers, and we also continue to support military nonprofits”, noted Joseph Pennington, National Military Program Manager. “We take pride in helping organizations like the Jason McKie Foundation do their great work.”
Retired pro football defensive tackle, Dan Hampton, participated in the event as a show of his support for the Jason McKie Foundation. After spending the day on the course, he entertained the crowd with a Q &A about the upcoming football season, sharing his insights into how teams are shaping up this year.
The event was capped off with a dinner and a silent auction to benefit the foundation. Generous sponsors donated great items, from airplane tickets to designer bags and gift certificates.
Dennis Ontaneda, Vice President at Combined Insurance, worked behind the scenes to make sure the event ran smoothly. Acknowledging the great support, he noted “Thanks to everyone who joined us to support the Jason McKie Foundation, especially our donors and sponsors! We don't have all the final numbers but we know we raised over $20,000 to help our military heroes and their families.”
