Combined Insurance Donates $50,000 to Military-Related Organizations
Combined Insurance, a leading provider of individual supplemental accident, disability, health, and life insurance products, and a Chubb company, demonstrated its continued commitment to supporting U.S. military servicemen and women by announcing donations totaling $50,000 to two military-related charitable organizations.
Combined Insurance was named the number one Military Friendly® Employer in the country by G.I. Jobs Magazine in 2015 and 2016. The donations are the result of the Combined Insurance’s Operation Veteran GiveBack program—a two-week program in which the supplemental insurers’ sales regions compete with each other to bring in the most sales. The regions that finish in the top two positions then have the opportunity to select which military- or military veteran-related charitable organization receives donations.
“We conducted our second annual Operation Veteran GiveBack, and this program has resulted in donations of $100,000 over the past two years to very worthwhile, non-profit organizations which serve our Nation’s Veterans and their families,” says Arthur Kandarian, Senior Vice President of Business Development at Combined Insurance and retired Army Colonel. “This program is a great way for our agents and managers to give back and to show thanks to the servicemen and women who have dedicated their lives to serving their country.”
Combined Insurance’s East Zone, which covers territory from Maine to Tennessee, finished in first place and selected Luke’s Wings as the recipient of a $30,000 donation. Luke’s Wings is a national organization that provides free travel and travel planning services for the families of wounded warriors and veterans, so that they can be together during times of treatment and recovery.
“Luke's Wings is honored to have provided more than 2,500 airline tickets to spouses, mothers, children, fiancées, friends and battle buddies since 2008. Every day we witness both the struggles and triumphs of our wounded warriors on their road to recovery. Luke’s Wings is founded on the belief that our wounded deserve a partner every step of the way, and we thank Combined Insurance for helping to make many of those flights possible,” says Lindsay Gill, Executive Director of Business Development and Corporate Sponsorship at Luke’s Wings.
The Central Zone, which spans from Ohio through North Dakota, took second place in Operation Veteran GiveBack. The region decided that its $20,000 donation would support the USO of Illinois. Celebrating its 75th year in 2016, the USO is the nation’s leading organization to serve the men and women in the U.S. military, and their families, throughout their time in uniform.
Alison Ruble, President and CEO of the USO of Illinois, accepted the donation on behalf of the USO. “'The USO of Illinois is grateful for the support of Combined Insurance through the Operation Veteran GiveBack initiative, which will help us continue to deliver care and comfort through our USO centers and connection to community resources through hundreds of programs for our local military members and their families. As we celebrate our 75th anniversary, we know it takes dedicated support and leadership from our local communities to make our mission possible.
